RIKEI Launches New J-ALERT Receiver “JARS-3000”

Rikei Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”) is pleased to announce that it has started sales of “JARS-3000,” the new J-ALERT (National Early Warning System (J-ALERT)) receiver, from Century Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Musashino-shi, Tokyo; President: Susumu Tanaka; hereinafter “Century”).

Following the directive issued by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency’s(FDMA) Civil Protection Division to prefectural governments on January 7, 2025, municipalities across Japan will begin replacing their current J-ALERT receivers with the new model, JARS-3000.

Overview of the JARS-3000

JARS-3000 is a dedicated system for receiving various types of civil protection information—such as ballistic missile alerts, emergency earthquake warnings, and major tsunami warnings—via satellite communication, as well as terrestrial networks including the Local Government Wide Area Network (LGWAN) (*1) and the internet. Equipped with multiple interfaces, the system can seamlessly connect with a wide range of external devices.

Rikei has played a key roll in the development of the J-ALERT system since its initial design phase in 2004. In addition to J-ALERT, we have a proven track record of delivering seamless disaster-response solutions by integrating long-distance radio systems and comprehensive disaster information platforms.
We have also contributed to the stable operation of such systems by providing prompt responses to technical issues and customer inquiries through our maintenance services. Leveraging this expertise, Rikei will actively propose the JARS-3000 system to municipalities and other designated public institutions (*1) throughout Japan.
