Our Sustainability Initiatives

Rikei's Vision for Sustainability

The Rikei Group has formulated a sustainability strategy under its Medium-Term Management Plan to support sustainable corporate growth and fulfill its social responsibilities. Based on this strategy, we are advancing initiatives to address key sustainability issues across the three ESG dimensions.

E. Environmental Initiatives

We will continue to promote environmentally responsible initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our business activities and addressing climate change, including efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality, while contributing to environmental conservation and a sustainable society.

S. Social and Human Capital Initiatives
  • Strengthen investment in human capital, a key driver of sustainable corporate growth.
  • Promote various initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Recognize social contribution as a key management priority and contribute to local communities and society as a whole through our business activities.
G. Corporate Governance Initiatives

We are committed to strengthening an efficient and transparent management and governance structure.

■Commitment to the SDGs

The Rikei Group remains committed to contributing to the achievement of the SDGs through its business activities and partnerships.

The Group has already incorporated ESG perspectives into its business operations and promotes initiatives that support environmental conservation and address social issues.
Regarding carbon neutrality, we participate in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's GX League and disclose information on our initiatives through our corporate website.
In promoting the SDGs, we are engaged in initiatives such as the Public-Private Partnership Platform for Local Revitalization SDGs (J-Alert Integrated Disaster Prevention System) and the Japan Geotechnical Society project on the development of VR experiences for landslide evacuation during heavy rainfall and their application to disaster prevention education. Progress on these initiatives is also disclosed as case studies.

*GX League: A forum for discussing and promoting Green Transformation (GX)—the transition from a fossil fuel–based economy to one centered on clean energy and sustainable growth.

Approach to Human Capital Development and Deployment

The Rikei Group is strengthening investment in human capital, a key driver of sustainable business success. Through initiatives that promote employee well-being, psychological safety, fair evaluation, employment stability, and training programs tailored to each career stage, we seek to enhance employee engagement, improve productivity, reduce employee turnover, and support long-term corporate growth.

As part of its human capital investment strategy, the Group utilizes AI in employee placement decisions through its internal digital transformation (DX) initiatives, in addition to its conventional approach of considering the preferences of both new employees and receiving departments.

By monitoring factors such as training progress and communication after assignment, the Group is working to achieve more effective talent development. This initiative has been expanded to include employees with up to eight years of service as well as mid-career hires.

In addition, the Group provides human resource development opportunities for early-career and mid-level employees by utilizing training programs offered by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and external organizations. We also promote the recruitment of diverse and highly qualified talent for key positions, regardless of nationality, gender, or age.

Medium- to Long-Term Sustainability

Under its current Medium-Term Management Plan, the Group is committed to achieving sustainable corporate growth and is advancing initiatives in six priority areas: strengthening core businesses, developing new businesses, promoting strategic investments, advancing its sustainability strategy, investing in human capital, and enhancing shareholder returns.

The Group has identified ESG, the SDGs, carbon neutrality, diversity, human capital, and intellectual property as key focus areas under its basic sustainability policy. The Group is committed to disclosing updates on these initiatives and their progress on an annual basis.
