Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”), is pleased to announce that it starts selling “EG6000”, a new product of internet gateway from Nomadix (Head Office: Agoura Hill, California, U.S.A.; CEO: Ted Helvey; hereinafter “Nomadix”).

Market background

Now that arranging internet environment in public facilities and at event venues has become common, there is a growing demand for gateways with excellent processing capabilities. However, since there are an unspecified number of users, not only processing power but also flexibility and high security functions are required at the same time.

Product Outline

Nomadix’s “EG6000” is a high-performance internet gateway for medium to large environments with over 500 devices. Users are able to connect to the Internet without changing any device settings. Operational costs can be reduced because it has flexibility to easily expand the bandwidth and high security functions that support cyber-attack countermeasures, and also is easy for administrators to operate.

Features

 Standard support for high-speed fiber internet

Existing Nomadix gateway products come standard with only RJ-45 (*) ports, but the EG6000 equipped two new optical fiber ports as standard, and guarantees for more optimal performance, minimum latency, and low power consumption.

In addition, main unit operates stably without declined function when RJ-45 port and an optical fiber port are used concurrently.

Stable public network

Enables a maximum throughput of 5.8Gbps and simultaneous connection of 500 to 8000 devices to provide a high-speed Internet environment for medium to large facilities.

 Stress-free network connection

The patented technology “DAT (Dynamic Address Translation)” developed by Nomadix allows to connect to the Internet without changing any terminal network settings (IP address, proxy server, etc.).

* RJ-45: An 8-pin connector used to connect Ethernet and ISDN cables.

Future deployment

In addition to sales to hotels which are existing businesses, Rikei will expand sales to convention centers, event spaces, rental offices, and other areas that require a faster and higher security environment.
