Rikei Corporation (headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”) announced that it will enter into a strategic business alliance with EVC Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO & President: Hideki Kokubun; hereinafter “EVC”) for video streaming, management services and their development, enabling solutions to the challenges of promoting communication, including the dissemination of information to customers and in-house information sharing.

Based on this alliance, the two companies will deepen exchanges including reciprocal technical support and aim to expand current operations and create new businesses through various sales collaborations.

Background and Details of the Business Alliance

To date, Rikei has been engaged consulting, system development and building as part of its mission to solve challenges in the delivery and management of digital video and audio for broadcast and telecommunications media market. In this market, content and viewing methods continue to change, as do the solutions demanded by existing customer base, including broadcasting organization and telecommunications companies.

Moreover, with people spending more time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for video streaming services has rapidly grown not only in media markets but also in the education, services, and manufacturing sectors as well, out of the need to offer online classes, improve internal communications and enhanced owned media.

EVC has attained Gold Competency* as a Microsoft Partner, and enjoys an extensive track record, advanced expertise, and strong technological capabilities in the area of cloud platforms. By entering into a strategic business alliance, Rikei and EVC will make reciprocal use of resources and provide ongoing value-added solutions to their existing customer bases. In addition, the two companies will aim to expand their businesses and enhance corporate value through the provision of network solutions that make up the core of video streaming services to new customer markets.

As the first step of the business alliance, Rikei has entered into a distributor agreement for EVC’s cloud-based video management and streaming platform “Bizlat on Azure”, and will propose the platform to solve customer issues related to video streaming and management.

Through this alliance, the two companies will promote activities with a view to launching new joint projects by bringing together EVC’s strengths in technology with Rikei’s strengths in procurement and sales expansion.
