Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”), is pleased to announce that it starts to sell “EtherHaul-8010FX”, a new long-distance wireless-LAN product of Siklu Communication Ltd. (Head Office: Israel, Chairman & President：Izik Kirshenbaum).

Background of the market

In a wide range of fields, including telecommunications carriers, broadcasters, and the private sector, high-speed, high-quality wireless communication is required in an increasing number of cases where high throughput is required, such as for smartphone and 5G backhaul applications (*1), transmission of high-definition images such as 4K, and surveillance camera networks that connect multiple locations. The “EtherHaul-8010FX” is an E-band (*2) broadband radio that can communicate up to 10 Gbps (full duplex) (*3). It is also effective as a wireless line when building a network environment in an environment where a wired line cannot be provided, such as between buildings or by sea.

*1) Backhaul: A relay line or network connecting access lines at the end of a network that connects base stations of telecommunications carriers and other mobile communication networks to the central backbone network.

*2) E band: frequency band from 70 to 80 GHz

*3) Full-duplex: a communication system in which transmission and reception are performed simultaneously from both sides. It can use twice as much bandwidth as the half-duplex communication system, which cannot transmit and receive simultaneously.

Product overview

EtherHaul-8010FX series is a 10 Gbps (full-duplex) communication system using E band WLAN.

It is possible to configurate to match a required distance with prepared 0.5ft(38dBi(※4)), 1ft(43dBi), 2ft(50dBi) antenna.

With 0.5ft (38dBi (* 4)), 1ft (43dBi), or 2ft (50dBi) antenna, a configuration that matches required distance is possible.

※4 dBi (antenna gain): communication sensitivity of an antenna. The higher the value, the higher performance an antenna has.

Transmission capacity

The maximum speed is 10 Gbps (full duplex). 2Gbps (full duplex) and 5Gbps (full duplex) models are available depending on a transmission capacity required by a user. (Upgradable to 10Gbps)

E band（70/80GHz）WLAN

The channel widths of 250, 500, and 2000 MHz are supported, and when 10 Gbps is used, the setting is in the 2000 MHz band.

Adaptive modulation: automatically modulates the modulation to match the radio reception level to maintain radio transmission.

Temperature range for operation：-45°C～+55°C

IP standard

It is IP67-compliant and is dustproof and waterproof.

Antenna options: 0.5ft(38dBi), 1ft(43dBi) and 2ft(50dBi).

QoS: Supports 8 levels of prioritization (VLAN P-bit and DSCP code).

Rikei will propose wireless networks using high-speed and long-distance wireless to meet the needs of users such as telecommunication carriers, broadcasters, companies and local governments that are engaged in crime prevention, disaster prevention and disaster prevention.
