Background of the Development

It became clear that the most important issue is whether preparation and decision on evacuation can be done properly according to the survey that jointly conducted by Higashihiroshima City Fire Department and Hiroshima University Resilience Research Center on the Western Japan Heavy Rain Disaster in 2018, along with stories heard from people who has actually suffered damage from the heavy rain. The scenario of the VR was created based on the above consideration.

Future Development

Rikei is focusing on not only VR but also disaster prevention related activities. In order to raise disaster prevention awareness of more people, we are developing VR content that allows people to experience river floods due to heavy rain, etc. in addition to landslide disaster for mountainous areas
