Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereafter “Rikei”) is pleased to announce that it will start to sell “Alfresco x FinalCode”, self-developed cooperative connector. “Alfresco x FinalCode” has function cooperating “Alfresco ECM (hereinafter Alfresco)”, an open source document management system, and “FinalCode”, a file encryption and tracking solution made by Digital Arts Inc.

Product Overview

“Alfresco x FinalCode” enables automatic encryption of contents to be downloaded via ”Alfresco”, as well as deletion distributed and downloaded contents through Alfresco, by operation of “Alfresco”‘s content. The functions were made possible by matching ECM (*1) function of “Alfresco”, which is worldwide-used free and open source software of document management system for enterprises, with IRM (*2) function of “FinalCode”, which is file encryption / tracking solution to eliminate anxiety and risk of information leakage.

With the connected function of ECM and IRM, it is possible to monitor electronic contents and disclose necessary information only to necessary person so that the enormous electronic contents which are assets of local governments and companies are not leaked / diffused. Additionally, by leaving the access history as to who referred and updated the contents, it strengthens compliance.

* 2 IRM (Information Rights Management) is the process of encrypting document files used in business, managing and restricting browsing and editing, and recording operation history

Features

“Alfresco x FinalCode” prevents information leakage and diffusion of downloaded / distributed important files with operation of “Alfresco” only, while keeping the convenience and operability of “Alfresco”

• Manager can specify / manage target users / groups of “FinalCode” encryption
• All “Alfresco” users, including target users can full text search, searching by tag. And also preview reference is available.
• When target users downloaded content, the content will be automatically encrypted (Encrypted content generation)
• When content is deleted, downloaded encrypted content will be deleted automatically
• When user is removed from target user, all downloaded encrypted contents at the user also will be deleted automatically
• When folder is deleted or content / folder is moved to other site, target encrypted content also will be deleted automatically
• When target user leave site or when site is deleted, target encrypted content also will be deleted automatically.

Future Plans

Rikei will expand sales of “Alfresco x FinalCode” as security measure targeting local governments, educational institutions and companies that need to handle confidential information / personal information such as Social Security and Tax Number securely, not only within organization but also with external organization.
