Rikei Starts to Sell Enensys's New Product

Rikei Corporation (hereinafter called “Rikei”; Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tetsuo Kuroda) announces that it has started to sell new “DiviCatch RF-S/S2” manufactured by Enensys Technologies (Head Office: France; President & CEO: Régis LE ROUX), for which Rikei acts a distributor.

Product Overview

The satellite transmission of digital video signals, which contain a variety of information, may become unstable depending on the weather conditions. In order for companies like broadcasters and content distributors transmitting video and audio signals to transmit more stable signals, it is important and is sometimes a challenge to be able to analyze and monitor signals in real time.
Enensys’s new “DiviCatch RF-S/S2” is a portable analyzer capable of real-time analysis and monitoring of signals such as signal/noise levels of the DVB-S/S2*1) satellite broadcasting standard. It also features TS*2) recording and playing capabilities.

(DiviCatch RF-S/S2 is designed for analysis and monitoring of signals complying with the satellite broadcasting standards and is not intended be used for the purpose of watching the content recorded.)

Features

  • Analysis and measurement of DVB-S/S2 satellite signals (signal level, CNR*3), etc.)
  • RF*4) monitoring and off-air monitoring
  • DVB-ASI*5) input/output (TS)
  • Also available is TS signal analysis using an IP interface
  • Also available is T2-MI*6) data analysis
  • ETR290*7) supported
  • CCM, VCM, ACM*8) modes supported

*1) DVB-S/S2: DVB is an abbreviation for digital video broadcasting. DVB is a suite of internationally accepted standards for digital television broadcasting. S/S2 represents a transmission method for satellite communications.

*2) TS: Abbreviation for transport stream, which is a container format for transmitting and storing MPEG-2 data. TS allows for various types of data to be combined into a single stream.

*3) CNR: Signal-to-noise ratio. It is defined as the ratio of signal power to the noise power in digital signal transmissions.

*4) RF: High frequencies used for television broadcasting.

*5) DVB-ASI: Transmission standard defined by DVB. DVB-ASI is a standard interface that is used to carry video streams in cable, satellite, or terrestrial broadcasting facilities.

*6) T2-MI: Data packets reaching the interface (T2-MI) before the actual modulation processing phase.

*7) ETR290: Guidelines for monitoring MPEG TS errors

*8) CCM, VCM, ACM: Error control features (modes) in DVB-S/S2 modulation.
