Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tetsuo Kuroda; hereafter called “Rikei”) would like to announce it has started to sell a new product “Etherhaul-600T” developed and produced by Siklu Communication Ltd. (Head Office: Israel; Chairman & President: Izik Kirshenbaum; hereafter called “Siklu”)

We are already selling E-band high-speed wireless LAN products “EtherHaul-1200 series” which work well in networks for communications between buildings and with monitoring cameras instead of fiber lines. This time, we have added to this products lineup, a new product “EtherHaul-600T” designed for use in V-band (*1) (57GHz ~ 66GHz) which makes maximum 1 Gbps wireless communications possible.

The V-band is the frequency band which does not require any license for operation in Japan. Namely, you can start operation right away without the need for applying for an operation license. It is the band not congested unlike WiFi, and as the beam width is limited to 2.5 degrees, you can avoid frequency interferences. For this reason, the product can be used as an extension of local governments’ disaster management systems at the time of an emergency or a disaster, or as a provisional network at an exhibition or an event.

Outline of the New Product

“EtherHaul-600T” realizes maximum 1Gbps wireless communications, using the V-band. Due to its frequency characteristics, Oxygen absorption causes an attenuation of 15dB/1km, but by taking this attenuation into account, it is possible to make 200m ~ 500m transmission. This new product features small size and light weight and portability, and installation over a window is also possible. It can be used for various purposes, including the doubling of the network, thus strengthening the current network infrastructure based on the requirements of the current network.

You can make necessary settings by using WEB GUI (*2) and Telnet (*3). Tools, which enable you to easily calculate estimated throughput or annual operation rate, are also available.

* 1 E-band, V-band: When high-volume wireless transmission is required, a wide frequency band in proportion to the information volume. The E-band is for 70 ~ 80GHz, while the V-band is for 57 ~ 66GHz.

* 2 WEB GUI (Graphical User Interface): A user interface which enables you to make settings for equipment and to check the condition of equipment.

* 3 Telnet: In a TCP/IP network like Internet or Intranet, it is the standard for remotely controlling computers connected to the network.

* 4 TDD type: Abbreviation for Time Division Duplex. Communication is time-divided, and transmission and receiving are switched alternatively at a very high speed.

* 5 Ethernet Ring Protection: ITU-T G.8032 ERP Standard designed not to cause any loop in a redundancy ring-structure network by switching routes at a high speed.

Future Sales Plan

We plan to sell this product for the following applications – monitoring networks for local governments’ disaster management systems, extension of communication networks at the time of emergency, strengthening of existing networks, provisional networks at exhibitions or events, establishing networks between buildings of a university, etc.
