RIKEI STARTS TO SELL LATEST VERSION 5.0 OF UNIVERSAL RECEIVER/TESTER DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED BY AVERNA BASED IN CANADA.
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Katsuei Aoyagi) would like to announce it starts to sell the latest version 5.0 of the Universal Receiver Tester (URT 5.0), which is a RF signal test system, developed and produced by Averna Technologies Inc. (Head Office: Montreal, Canada, President & CEO: Pascal Pilon)
Manufacturers of car navigation products had to procure different testers for each of different types of broadcasting standards before the emergence of Averna's URT. For the benefit and convenience of the car navigation industry, Averna has successfully developed, produced and supplied the Universal Receiver Tester (URT), a RF signal test platform, one single unit of which can respond to multiple broadcasting standards and which drastically reduces costs, to such manufacturers across the world.
The URT 5.0 which we announce this time includes new toolkits NAVASIM and G-SIM which are products of joint development work among Averna's design team, a leading PND* maker and a mapping software vendor. The URT 5.0 has made it possible to drastically reduce field test periods and has become an excellent test system whose new instinctive GUI and optimization function have been greatly improved for any existing GPS simulators. (*PND = Portable Navigation Device or Personal Navigation Device, which is a small car navigation system which has an LCD display and which uses a flash memory for storing map data.)
Averna's RF Product Manager (Mr. Dominique Fortin) commented as follows on the launch of the URT 5.0.
"The latest version URT 5.0 was successfully developed through joint development efforts with a leading vendor in the navigation market. To specify a location in the map, you had to enter its latitude/longitude coordinate values manually, but with the URT 5.0, what you have to do is just click a location on the map, which is certain to drastically reduce the time required for navigation system manufacturers to produce "drive scenarios" and directly meets the desire of the industry to test traffic information services more effectively. It is really very helpful for the industry."
New Functions of URT 5.0
- NAVASIM Toolkit
By using theNAVASIM (Navigation Advanced Simulator) Software Kit, you can produce routes or scenarios very easily by using Tele Atlas-made built-in digital map. This function contributes to reducing the number of verification tests for GPS receivers and shortening periods required to develop products. Users are able to customize scenarios freely by inserting the start point, destination point and route and also by changing car speed or by generating traffic service information. - G-SIM Toolkit
G-SIM (Advanced GPS Simulator) Software Kit is designed to provide real-time GPS L1 C/A constellation simulation for up to 12 satellites, and users are able to easily set simulation characteristics matching satellite parameters for 12 satellites, and the ionosphere and troposphere models which users can set by using G-SIM. G-SIM complements NAVASIM test conditions and makes it possible to produce more practical test conditions. - G-SIM Toolkit
The advanced development environment incorporated in the UTR 5.0 provides consistency among advanced toolkits and has adopted human engineering an instinctive designs for the purpose of providing the utmost easiness to use.
