Rikei Starts to Sell Ringdale-made FaxReceiver and DocuSender

Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku; President & CEO: Katuei Aoyagi) would like to announce that it starts to sell FaxReceiver and DocuSender which are among ModulLAN series, developed and produced by Ringdale Inc. (Head Office: Texas, USA; President & CEO: Klaus Bollmann) which Rikei is exclusively representing in Japan.

Ringdale's line of ModuLAN "modular, local area network" fax and scan appliances are aimed at environmentally conscious organizations that want to "go green" and are refining their business processes by moving toward a less paper intensive office. FaxReceiver consists of a small solid-state unit that connects to an Ethernet network and a phone line and converts incoming faxes into e-mails and sends them directly to an inbox. DocuSender consists of a small solid-state unit and a touch panel keypad that connect to a compatible USB-connected scanner, an Ethernet network and a phone line and scans documents to e-mail and/or fax. A PC or Fax Service is not needed to operate FaxReceiver or DocuSender.

The ModuLAN FaxReceiver and DocuSender appliances already convert documents to a GIF format. PDF, the native file format for Acrobat®, is a convenient way to deliver documents online, as many users have a PDF reader and can download them easily. A PDF file can contain thousands of pages with a combination of fonts, graphics, color and images, and will retain the original layout and typesetting.

DocuSender can be used standalone or in a server-based environment providing Single Sign On (SSO) user authentication at the scanner utilizing Ringdale's unique FollowMe® Secure Document Output Management technology, and to match documents to distinct identifiers, such as client codes or barcodes, when attached to USB-connected readers. Up to two readers can connect to DocuSender at one time.

The scanners that DocuSender currently supports are USB-connected with automatic document feeders: Visioneer® 9750 PDF, 9650 and 9450; Visioneer Patriot™ series 780, 680, 470 and 430; Visioneer RoadWarrior (future enhancement); Xerox® DocuMate® series 632, 520, 272 and 152; Fujitsu® fi-5220C and fi-5015C, and HP® Scanjet® 8270, N8400 family; other makes will be supported in the future.
