RIKEI GETS AN ORDER FROM NEC FOR A NEXT-GENERATION CELL PHONE BASE STATION TEST SYSTEM DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED BY ERCOM BASED IN FRANCE
- CONFORMS TO 3.9 GENERATION LTE AND ACCELERATES DEVELOPMENT
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Katsuei Aoyagi) would like to announce NEC has adopted the most advanced base station test system "eNodeB Mobipass Tester" produced by ERCOM (Head Office: France, President: Didier Panoux) which Rikei represents in Japan.
Currently, manufacturers of communications equipment are vigorously pushing research and development of cell phone networks which conform to the next-generation cell phone data communications standard LTE (Long Term Evolution). LTE is also called 3.9 generation, and is a standard for data communications featuring high-speed, high-volume and small delays with over 100M bits/s for downstream and over 50M bits/s for upstream. If you adopt an eNodeB Mobipass Tester, you can dramatically speed up your development of base stations for practical use.
Mr. Hashimoto, Director of Mobile RAN Division of NEC, commented as follows.
"We are pushing development of LTE base station systems with high-degree completion aiming for practical use of booming mobile broadband services, and I believe ERCOM's eNodeB Mobipass Tester will surely satisfy our such desire."
ERCOM's eNodeB Mobipass test system is an all-in-one type system featuring various test abilities for testing allowable communications volume such as load tests, diagnosis function, etc. and for testing communications quality such as functional tests, monitoring decoding function, etc. It allows for various communications simulations between all interfaces in the LTE architecture ranging from between a user terminal and the base station and up to the equipment used in the core network.
NEC established a venture company jointly with Alcatel Lucent in February for the purpose of joint development of LTE-related products, and ERCOM already started delivery of eNodeB Mobipass Testers to the company. ERCOM president Didier Pagnoux commented as follows. "I believe NEC”Ēs adoption this time of our product will surely accelerate their development of LTE systems. Their adoption of our product means they have highly evaluated our easy-to-use GUI."
Features of eNodeB Mobipass
- You can easily produce test programs and run them by using the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
- The hardware is structured with flexible blades, allowing you to choose necessary blades to meet test requirements.
- The diagnosis function shortens the time needed for debugging and trouble-shooting, thus speeding up the time up to the roll-out of products. As this product designed to be user-friendly, there will be no need for high-level experts who were required in analyzing protocols up to now.
