RIKEI STARTS TO SELL UNIVERSAL RECEIVER/TESTER DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED BY AVERNA BASED IN CANADA. THESE PRODUCTS MAKE IT EASY TO TEST CAR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AND CAR AUDIO EQUIPMENT.
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Katsuei Aoyagi) would like to announce it has concluded a distributor agreement with Averna Technologies, Inc. (Head Office: Montreal, Canada, President & CEO: Pascal Pilon) and has started to sell Averna-made Universal Receiver/Tester (URL).
The URT is a platform which is designed to create almost all signals meeting the broadcasting standard like signals used in radio, video and navigation in a simulated method. Manufacturers of car navigation systems and car audio products test their products by using different testers for each of broadcasting signals being used. But this URT has made it possible for one unit of RF signal generator (National Instruments-made PXI-567x) to be able to test multiple broadcasting signals (digital and analog). The broadcasting standards supported by the URT include those for AM/FM, RDSˇ¦RBDS (Note 1), Sirius (Note 2), XM (Note 3), DAB (Note 4), HD Radio (Note 5), GPS (Note 6), supporting almost all available types of broadcasting signals.
Features of Universal Receiver/Tester (URT)
1.You can test almost all types of broadcasting signals used in car navigation systems, car radio units, video equipment.

AM/FM, RDS/RDBS. Sirius, XM, DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting), HD radio In-Band On-Channel - Testable Car Navigation Signals:
GPS 1 Channel, TMC (Note 7) over RDS, DARC (Note 8), VICS (Note 9)
2.As broadcasting signals are generated by using software tool kits, you can easily expand the range of solutions.
- By adding a PXI card, you can conduct audio analysis and bus control.
- As digital modulation is done real-time against almost all broadcasting standards by a built-in controller, you can continuously replay even very long data files coming from Sirius, XM or DAB,
- The Graphical User Interface (GUI) supports adjustment of power, frequency, insertion loss, CN ratio real-time.
- As the Record & Playback Tool Kit has a RF record & playback system which records the radio frequency (RF) on a car, you can reduce the number of test processes in the field when testing RF receivers. (Option: RF Record Software, RF Playback Software)
Rikei plans to actively promote and sell the URT to manufacturers of automobiles, car radio units, GPS/TV tuners, etc.
