Rikei Starts Selling Test Systems, Developed by ERCOM(a French Corporation, for Testing Next-Generation Cell Phone Base Stations
- which conform to 3.9 generation LTE and are expected to accelerate base station vendors -
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Katsuei Aoyagi) would like to announce that it has concluded a sole distributor agreement with ERCOM(Head Office: Paris, France; CEO: Didier Pagnoux), and that it has started to sell ERCOM's most advanced base station test system "eNodeB Mobipass" to communications equipment vendors since the beginning of April.
Many communication equipment manufacturers are doing research/development of cell phone networks which use LTE (Long Term Evolution) which is one of the standards specifying the specification of next-generation cell phone data communications. LTE is called 3.9 Generation, and the standard for high-speed communication, downstream: 100Mbit/s or more, upstream: 50Mbit/s or more. In Japan, NTT DoCoMo and SoftBank Mobile have already decided to use LTE as the communications standard for their next-generation cell phones, with KDDI (au) also considering doing so.
ERCOM's eNodeB Mobipass test system is an all-in-one type appliance, which combines two kinds of tests, (1) related to the amount of communications such as load tests, diagnosis function, etc., and (2) related to the quality of communications such as functional tests, monitoring, modem functions, etc. This system makes it possible to do communications simulations between all interfaces of the LTE architecture, from a user cell phone to a base station and a core network.
The eNodeB Mobipass system consists of a hardware platform which has adopted TTCN language and a blade method which are widely being used in ITU(International Telecomunication Union) and of a software platform Linux OS in order to provide environments very friendly to most developers. This will enable users of this system to reduce investment/operation costs and shorten development period. Rikei plans to sell this system actively to cell phone communications carriers and base station system vendors.
Features of eNodeB Nibipass
- Flexible blade structure, which allows you to select proper blades to match test conditions.
- Any test script which was written at the stage of prototype production can be used even at the stage of development.
- Excellent GUI, which allows you to produce and run complex test programs.
- The diagnosis function reduces the time required for debugging and trouble-shooting, accelerating the time up to the release of a product. As this is a user-friendly one, protocol analysis does not require any high-class expert unlike conventional systems.
